| If it's that "Sam Ash exclusive" they've had in their last few flyers,
it's a Japanese model with some non-standard features (compared to the
models in the Fender catalogs). So compare it against the Japanese
made Strat standards price-wise.

The thing I'm not crazy about is SA's "no returns" policy. If
there's a buzzing fret or something else "minor" (like no damage
from shipping itself) it sounds like they won't take it back....

| I would think the first rule of purchasing stringed instruments
through the "mail" --- new OR used --- would be an unconditional
return period with full refund (w/ or w/o shipping charges).
Actually I think the same should be true of over-the-counter.
If in doubt, walk. Or be sure. But how can you be sure if you've
never SEEN the axe?

| The Strat "S.D." is the Steve D'Andrea signature model...it's set up so
that if you buy one, you'll want a Les Paul Deluxe......Pat Blair and
Coop will understand.....8^)

I agree. It amazed me at first that people would buy instruments
through the mail,.. but buying sight unseen with no return policy
is utter insanity,.. unless you've got money to burn I guess,..

Even if there is a return policy, look out for "Restocking Fees" -
You can return it, but we're gonna charge you to do it.
