2388.1 | What sort of feedback? | MVSUPP::SYSTEM | Dave Carr 845-2317 | Fri Nov 29 1991 07:41 | 5 |
| Ralph,
Is it a high pitch squealing noise like you'd get from a microphone, or
is it the sort of feedback you'd expect from a guitar? Those humbuckers
are pretty high gain (a *lot* more powerful than single coil)...
Does it only happen if you're standing very close to the amp?

2388.2 | wax them suckers? | TOOK::SUDAMA | Living is easy with eyes closed... | Fri Nov 29 1991 11:17 | 8 |
| It sounds like one (or both) of your pickups may be microphonic. I had
similar problems with my ES-345 until I waxed the pickups. Now it never
feeds back. There's a note way back when someplace in here that
discusses waxing pickups, in which I describe the procedure in some
detail. If you're less foolish, you can probably find someone to do it
for you.

2388.3 | pot 'em! | WOLVER::SDANDREA | Trials Bulldawg | Mon Dec 02 1991 11:39 | 7 |
| My LP Deluxe is a "feeder-backer" too! I never "potted" the pickups,
but I've been told that is the fix....."pot" 'em :== wax coating.
I believe there is a short discussion on potting pickups in the
"Chronology of the Les Paul" note....

| Agreed. Pot 'em or replace 'em with some sort of cool new (tech-wise)
pickup... Who's LP with Seymour Duncans didn't squeel a bit.
