2354.3 | It's a *very* informative course! | GIAMEM::DERRICO | Going Thermo-nuclear | Fri Oct 18 1991 12:44 | 17 |

I went to the seminar in the spring and had thought it was worth all
the money that I spent on it. It's rather expensive but the knowledge
that you gain probably pays for itself in the first year, if you decide
to "really" get serious.
It can also help you if you decide not to get serious. You really get
some insight as to how the buisness works, and what you need to do to
be successful in the trade.
The course outlines what you need to do, and how to do the things that
most of the public has no idea about. If you can afford it, I highly
recommend it to anyone. Though sometimes you want to keep it a secret!
One thing though, is that the periferal material (outside the class)
is expensive. The stuff that Peter Knickles(sp?) writes is expensive. The
books are expensive. (This is not the book you get with the class).

| John,
You say the course is rather expensive, how much does it cost?
You seem to be saying that there is considerable outside reference
material which you have to purchase seperately to get the most of it,
could you give us a list of this?

Lemme dig the stuff up over the weekend and I'll try to give you some
kind of info outline on it.

2354.6 | Tuition=$195.00 | JENEVR::RUDNICK | | Fri Oct 18 1991 18:13 | 11 |
| The seminar's tuition is $195.00. This is advertised as being $100.00
off the regular price. The seminar folks say they can do this because
of MUSICIAN Magazine's contribution to the cause. There is a $95.00
registration deposit and the brochure mentions that 20% of the seats
are being saved for walkups. If anyone wants it, I have all of this
kind of information from the brochure.
The New England sessions include Boston on Nov 2/3 and Hartford on Nov
9/10.

2354.7 | hmmmmm... I'd question what *you'll* get out of it | WEDOIT::ABATELLI | MESA BOOGIE modified by PEAVEY! | Tue Oct 22 1991 08:56 | 6 |
| It sounds like all those "trade schools" that don't offer you anything
"after" you graduate. Kinda like the Columbia School of Broadcasting...
although if you go for "informational purposes" only, I'm sure it'll
help you understand a part of the business.
