2351.0. "Vinnie Moore (free CD)" by SALEM::TAYLOR_J (Anyone seen my air guitar ?) Thu Oct 17 1991 10:32

No note on Vinnie Moore ?? Guess again ! This guy wails. He's
got chops to burn and knows how to play with feel to boot. I
got one of his CD's for free. Fenders running a promotion now
     that has you

            A. try out a Heartfield guitar at an authorized Fender dealer
            B. Have the salesman sign the coupon from Fenders free
               "Frontline" magazine
            C. Mail to the address on the coupon

Fender sent me Vinnie's CD and This guy BURNS ! I heard elements
in his playing that sounded like the taste of Beck with the chops
of Vai. I was really suprised how good this relativley unknown
player is. BTW, I was not all that impressed with the Heartfield
guitar, it seemed like a badly setup Ibanez ( the guitar is a knockoff
of an Ibanez 550, only MORE expensive )

If you want to get this CD, stop by a Fender dealer soon, I don't
know when this offer expires. Anyone else heard of this guy ??

I recently watched vinnie's video "speed, articulation and accuracy"

He's fast, he knows his modes and he only picks about 1 note in ten. Master
of the rolloff/hammer on/finger tap. Like many guitar god videos, there are
things to learn there but much of the tape is wasted while vinnie burns
without much instruction, not as bad as the George Lynch tape though...

So who does/has he played with? I wouldn't mind getting a little something to
bend my ears with

yours in a phrygian way dbii

You can find Vinnie Moore's solo stuff in your average CD/cassette
    store under "Vinnie Moore". ;-)

I think the one I have is called "Mind's Eye"....
