    Well, we were mid-tune and my volume started getting lower and lower
    and I went to investigate and saw smoke coming from the back of the amp
    with a rather nasty burning smell.
    
    I frend on mine is gonna take a peek at it at the weekend, till them
    I'm back with my Peavey poweramp.

    Could be a transformer, maybe only the choke on the B+ line. I had the
    choke burn up on mine once, similar symptoms. If it's the choke, it
    isn't a big deal. Maybe $20+ for the part, 1 hr labor. If it's a
    transformer, it'll run into some $$$.

Strange.... our PA amp did exactly the same thing last night, but without
the smoke (must be because it's a tranny amp).
