2310.1 | Just say `NO' Scary ... | RAVEN1::JERRYWHITE | Here's a quarter ... | Thu Aug 29 1991 14:52 | 9 |
| Sheesh ... the only things it doesn't do is:
- wash the car
- feed the kids
- say `not tonight ...' 8^)
What's the financial damage on one of these ?

2310.3 | Like I need it, but ... | RAVEN1::JERRYWHITE | Here's a quarter ... | Thu Aug 29 1991 15:21 | 3 |
| Is that a cash price or list ... doesn't sound *too* bad.
Scary (who's got his GP8 in a box ...)

2310.4 | List for $799, Sell for $559 | DWOVAX::MROSENBERG | | Thu Aug 29 1991 15:48 | 2 |
| They list for $799, but they're going for $559 at some local stores
in Delaware. Most of the big mail-order houses I called don't have it.

| Seems like that band width is gonna crush that 'exciter' and distortion...
If I remember correctly the SGE had a 20-20 band width...

2310.7 | No Big Deal! | HAMER::KRON | MARSHALLWILLBUTFENDERCONTROL | Fri Aug 30 1991 09:56 | 3 |
| what kind of guitar do you have that needs 20 to 20k bandwidth.....
not meaning to be a wiseguy (for once) but even if you had it it
wouldn't make a whole lot of difference anyway thru a guitar amp!

2310.8 | | DNEAST::BOTTOM_DAVID | UNIX is cool... | Fri Aug 30 1991 13:26 | 7 |
| The guitar is not the issue. The bandwidth is desirable as many of the effects
chorus, exciter etc. will expand the useful bandwidth of the original signal.
I used to use a 30-16Khz bandwidth processor, now I use a 10-20Khz processor.
The difference is noticable even to my hearing impaired ears.

ESpecially for those HUGGGGEEEE verbs...

2310.10 | Sounds great to Me! | DWOVAX::MROSENBERG | | Tue Sep 03 1991 16:25 | 13 |
| Well... I finally listened to one and it knocked my socks (and shoes)
right off!
I'm not a connoisseur of signal processors, but this unit impressed me.
Some really great presets. I may buy one instead of waiting for the
ART SGX-2000. I also liked the user interface - it was very easy to
edit the patches and effect chains.
Re: the last few notes
If Bandwidth is an issue, I didn't notice it.
