The Loggins and Messina version predated the Anne Murray version
(although hers was the hit).
Also, the Anne Murray version leaves out some of the original
words (the verse with the reference to getting high).

I'm almost positive it was a Kenny Loggins solo album.
The producer, Jim Messina, from Poco added so much by the
time it ended that they called it "Kenny Loggins with Jim
Messina sittin' in". It was always called "Sittin' in".
They then became "Loggins and Messina".

There's several variants floating around. I don't think even Jerry
Jeff did it the same every time. For example, I've heard "T is for
T-Bird wine" as well as "T is for Texas". The only H and E's I can
recall quickly from memory are "H is for Hen" and "E is for Einstein's

| Speaking of covers, we are struggling with the lyrics to two we are
doing:
One is "Distance (In Thee)", a Patti Smith tune recorded by Blue Oyster
Cult.
Second chorus:
"? ? ? ? should not be delivered
But you & I see now baby that still they are"
Last chorus:
"Once we breathed the air of sweet surrender
? ? ? ? ? filled our atmosphere"
Next tune is "Mussels From A Shell" by Squeeze
First line:
"The do it down on ? ?, they do it at Waikiki"
last line of first chorus:
"? ? ? ? ? ? and everybody wants a hack" (sounds like "Servers drop
their balls & drive??)
Last Chorus:
" Two fat ladies window shop, something for the mantelpiece
? ? bingo all night to panic a sweet little niece" (??? this whole line
may be wrong)
We're usually pretty good at this, but these two have us stumped. Any
help will be appreciated.

This weekend I was treated to a viewing of "Wild In The Streets" (1969,
starring Christopher Jones, Hal Holbrook, and Richard Pryor). Bad
enough to be fascinating, it has achieved cult status...
Now the only memorable song in the soundtrack was "The Shape of Things
To Come." But the record of the soundtrack (don't ask) lists a song
called "Wild in the Streets"...
I half-remember a song by that title (I think), whose lyrics include:
...I still need a drugstore to cure my cough
Running wild in the streets [one bar of lead guitar goes here]
Running wild in the streets ....
But this was not the song on the soundtrack.
Can anyone identify the group that did the above song and provide more
of the lyrics?
Thanks,
JP

Anyone have "Love will keep us alive" by the Eagles?
Chords seem like a no brainer but I wouldn't mind them
too...
Thanks,
Tom

Hey folks,
I'm looking for the words to a song done by Duke and the Drivers
I think it's called "What You Got", but I'm not sure about that.
Can anyone help me out?
It's a simple rock tune that goes something like this....
Verse Maybe it's the way you walk
Maybe it's the way you talk
Maybe it's the clothes you wear
Or the way you come your hair
Chorus What you've got, sure looks good
What you've got, sure looks good
Baby it's plain to see
You really got a hold of me
Your love, really really got me baby
Your love, really really got me baby
What you've got, sure looks good
What you've got, sure looks good
I'd love a copy of the tune but would appreciate the words only.
Thanks much,
Roxanne

I still always liked "Slow Motion" better.
I have a copy of the album that I can tape for you
at a (much) later date, or, if you are local, you can
borrow it.
Rick.

Well, long time to type! I apologize Rick, for not replying sooner. I had
a few changes since I last wrote. I now work in a different group, OpenVMS
Engineering, ever heard of it ;).
Anyway, I sit in ZKO. Where are you? I'd love to record the album.
Promise to keep in touch,
Roxanne
