I just picked up his new album "Turbulence" from Relativity Records.
Along with Steve are Bill Bruford(yea!) on Drums and Billie Curry
(ex-Ultravox) on Keyboards.
Mercifully, we have been spared his singing, examples of which
can be found on his first solo album.
Although the First album had some fine pieces, it was a tad too
mellow for my taste. No so with "Turbulence". Some of these songs
scream as only Howe can...
The sounds he gets out of that Old Gibson are unbelievable.
"Turbulence" also contains a cool little chart showing which
guitars were used for lead and support on each song, along with
Steve's own little metaphysical explanation of what he was trying
to say with each tune. Bizarre. If you spent all that time with
Jon Anderson, you would probably be pretty spacy yourself, eh?.
A must for any die-hard Yes fans and Cerebral guitarists.

It's only been out about 6 weeks. I'm sure it'll find it's way across
the pond.

Hi,
Just to let you know that the "Turbulence" album is now available in
the U.K. because I've have just purchased a copy.
It's a good album, I found that a lot of the material was used on the
"Yes - Union" album but is still good stuff.
Another die hard Steve Howe fan,
Davie.

| I am about 1/2 way through learning Mood for a Day(Fragile Yes).
After 20 years of playing I decided to take guitar lessons and this is
the first song I am learning. What a great guitarist MR. Howe is!!!

| RE .6 If your half way through, your there, seeing the second half
is basically just a rehash of the first half. It took me
a long time to figure this one out because I can't read
music and there was no Tab available back when I was trying
to figure it out. I hacked the crap out of the record
lifting and pushing back the needle a million times. I
ended up smashing the record in frustration and finally
smartened up and got the tape. That was about 10 years
ago. I still play it once in a while so I don't forget it.
It was well worth the agravation because I still seem to
impress the hell out of people when I play it ;^)

2287.8 | Steve Howe in Denver! | COMET::VERMETTEC | The guy with the Rush hat ... | Mon Feb 01 1993 00:05 | 9 |
| I was fortunate enough to see the Union tour in Denver.
The man had a smile on his face while playing Mood for a day and Clap.
The man is the s**t !!
I would love to get his first solo, but alak I cannot find it anywhere.
:-( :-( :-(
I hope Yes also continues with the present line-up!

2287.9 | GTR anyone ? | COMET::VERMETTEC | The guy with the Rush hat ... | Mon Feb 01 1993 00:08 | 3 |
| Anyone know of GTR?
Steve Howe and Steve Hackett(of Genesis and Father of tapping )?
I've got a copy of the tape, At least I used to. It was excellent.

| I saw GTR at the Orpheum when they did their tour. It was Great.
Steve Hackett came out first and did a solo acoustic set, then Steve
Howe came out and did his solo acoustic set, then the full band came
out and did the GTR stuff. It was a very good show. I heard that
the 2 Steve's were constantly at each others throats for the whole
tour, so when it was over, it was over. As a big Yes & Genesis fan
and a Gutair player to boot, it was a rare opertunity to see 2 of my
hero's in one night!!!
