    OK, there seems to be some interest here.  How's this sound ....
    
    o  Send me something that's FINISHED, requiring NO eq'ing.
    o  Let's shoot for a deadline of August 1st, or when I receive
       90 minutes of material.
    o  I encourage those folks WITHOUT big_bucks recording gear to submit
       entries.  This isn't a contest ...
    o  I encourage some folk/country/alternative entries too.
    o  I'm very encouraging. 
    o  If you give me a 90min tape with your entry, I can send you your
       copy back on it, if you so choose.
    o  Otherwise, I can send folks a copy on a hi-bias Maxell for $3
       including postage.
    
    I don't want to get bogged down in details - send me some tapes so I

    To be honest ... I'm sort of in the mood for a `first_come,
    first_serve, submit_what_ya_want, submit_as_many_as_ya want' kinda
    thang.  I've got 3 I want to put in my self.  Like I mentioned earlier,
    pretty much all I'm gonna do is slam all this on to a master, dub and
    deliver.  
    
    I don't know how many folks would enjoys a 30 minute blues jam, but
    WTF, if you've got one, SEND IT !!!

    Both written for modern classical guitar, one written by a
    practitioner of the Spanish method of tone production and the other for
    the Segovia technique. That'll be  ok?

    Personally, I've got a country tune, a metal tune (both live) and a
    semi-studio blues jam.  If I get a bunch of entries (hint�), I'll back

    Just trying to nudge some of you closet wailers ...
    
    I'd like to encourage EVERYONE to do *something* here.  I want to send
    out a 90 minute tape containing a little bit of everything and with a
    bunch of different people.  If you have a jam box with a built in mic,
    then you have no excuse ... the cuts I'm submitting were recorded that
    way, and I'm pleased with 'em.
    
    If some of you have a LOT of things, send 'em, but let me know which
    ones are your 1,2,3,4th favorites, in case I get swamped with tapes
    (I'm hoping I do anyway ...).
    
    Please keep in mind, this is NOT a contest !!!  We're just jammin'
    together through mail ...  8^)
    
    Some noters were worried about other noters ripping off original tunes
    - I guess it's possible, but from my dealings with this group, we're a
    pretty tight brotherhood ... personally, I'm not worried about it.

    Ha...I have a tape right here of Cheryle West playing lead guitar on
    Pat B's HEARTBREAKER...Hmmmm, maybe I'll just send it in!  ;^)

I was thinking about sending in a tape, with midi sequenced drums and bass
for Led Zep's 'The Lemon Song'. No guitar, just midi generated bass and drum
tracks.  I'm still working on perfecting  my own guitar parts for this song, but I thought
it might be fun to submit. I'd like to hear if other folks like playing along 
with it as much as I do. 

It would be an 'Add your OWN guitars' submission.

I've got a couple of others, like Manic Depression, Purple Haze, Hey Joe...
Heartbreaker, Rock 'n ROll...

Don't know if I'll actually have time to record my guitar playing.

What do you think? Should I fall back into the obscurity of COMMUSIC?

    	of your jam tracks.  Man, I could get definitely get off on
    	jammin' to Hendrix and Zep!  If it is not deemed reasonable 
    	for the noter's tape, maybe you could work somethin else

Hey, it rained this weekend, so I recorded some guitar and vocals on
'the Lemon Song'! Remember, you requested that it have Guitar on it!

I even bought some new el-cheapo monitors to mix it down.
The Lemon song is  7.45 min long. I'm also sending a remixed version of 
jimi's 'Fire' that was on the last Commusic tape. It didn't go over real 
big there, but,  maybe the guitar world might appreciate 
(or hate it) more then the commusic folk.
 
I also threw in a 'guitarless' (bass and drums only) of Manic Depression.
Scary, you can use this as filler at the end of tape, of leave it out all
togather if you choose. It's fun to jam to, but I didn't get a chance to
record any guitars on it.

    For Volume IV, I have something I'll send in. Its an acoustic song 
    I wrote and taped a while back but recently dug it out. Its all acoustic 
    so its  not really a decent representation of *me* playing but I'll send 
    it in anyhow as its fairly pleasant to listen to.
    
    Also, by the time volume four is being compiled I should have been into the
    studio to get something more me down.

    	I just sent off a bank bill to you for $20 US.  Then I read in here
    that It cost some dude $15 to send a CD to Australia.  
    
    	So after the smelling salts I rang the post office.  To send 125-
    250 grams (1/2 pound) to South Carolina via airmail is $4.50 Aus
    $3.00 US.  It takes 4-8 working days to get there.
    
    	So unless the US postal service is really expensive I wonder what
    is going on?????

    Good news ... bad news ....
    
    Good news .... just for shitszengiggles, I made a pre-production tape
    last night just to make sure I was going to have enough room for ALL
    this material.  I was dubbing using a double Onkyo deck, no fade_in -
    fade_out, just put 'em back to back.  Sounded GREAT !  
    
    
    Bad news ... while I was listening to the finished product, my
    apartment got nailed by lightning.  Let's see, it took out my modem,
    Akai receiver, Tandy EQ, and my Onkyo double deck.  F*ckin' great ...
    
    But, there is an out.  My son has a nice Technics double deck which
    will easily duplicate what I made last night.  That's what I'll do. 
    The *only* drawback is that there won't be the neato fades, but that
    won't affect anyone's contributions but mine, since they're live. 
    Besides, this makes more room for MORE music .... I was able to put
    EVERYTHING that was sent to me on the tape !  
    
    It'll be in the mail on Tuesday.

    MERCY !  Looks like I ran a few folks out of the bushes !  That `last'
    tape brought a LOT of interest.  Here's the scoop ...
    
    I can't get the 100min tapes in bulk anymore - so if I make anymore
    Vol. 3 tapes, I'll have to kick the price up to $5, earlier volumes
    will remain at $3 each.  With this in mind - if there are any other
    folks that have been debating on getting a copy of these gems, DO IT
    NOW.  After this Friday (AUG-30), I'm gonna put all of it in Buck's

    your copy yet - give it a week, and let me know.  I expect full reviews

    Scary (... just say `NO' to home mass production ...)

    Every once in a while, we get reminders that there *are* still some
    decent human beings left on the planet.  Example:
    
    This past week, I've been moving from my apartment (box sweet box) into
    a gorgeous condo.  As I was making my LAST trip to the old place to
    disassemble a 30gal aquarium, I checked the mail.  Hmmm, got a letter
    from Brian Donovan.  "Great", now I p*ssed someone off enough in notes
    to the point that they're sending hate mail to my house !  Hey, it
    could happen ... 8^)
    
    Nope - it was a money order for his copy of Vol. III, with a generous
    late fee attatched.  He said in the letter that he'd overlooked sending
    the buckage after getting the tape, and wanted to clear the books.  I
    sent out so many tapes, I really lost track of who had paid and who
    didn't.
