2240.0. "Chris Isaak's Wicked Heart?" by RTOEU::MLEWIS () Fri Jun 21 1991 10:15

    Hi Guys,

Does anyone know the chords/music for Chris Isaak's song, Wicked Heart?
Or do you know if it has been published in a song book?
(Its the one that goes with the film Wild at Heart)

    Thanks in advance,

    Martin

Hi - I worked it out last night, it has the vast amount of 3 chords all
the way through - Bm, A, E, plus a few easy fiddly lead bits. Go for
    it!

    cheers, Martin

You mean Wicked Game, right? Off the Heart Shaped World cd.
I saw a video of the song (not the MTV version) at the end of
the movie (Wild at Heart on video) and the guitarist was
was actually tightening/loosening his tuners for those wild
"divebombs" (or whatever you call 'em). Does anybody have the cd?

Maybe he uses banjo tuners, I've seen a few country players do
    that...

You can get banjo tuners that let you tune to two different pitches,
then switch quickly between them. Useful on an instrument that is
essentially open tuned to either D or G.

2240.4Does he really use tuners?WRKSYS::ZURAWSKIMon Jun 24 1991 16:4111
    re:.2

I'm confused. I've seen him use the tuners to change the pitch and I
thought he did it on the intro to the solo -- but the notes are b
(which goes slightly flat) then he goes up to F# (slightly flat) before
he tunes it up to pitch. How does he have his left hand on the tuners
and play an f#? I can get a similar effect with my wammy bar -- is that
what he really does and just "pretends" to play on the video? Or
perhaps his top E string is really tuned to F#?

I saw him play it live and he used da whammy bar to do that stuff!

I saw him live (on Saturday night live) and he used the tuners to do

Nothing too original about using a tremelo arm for this sort of thing
is there? Personally when I first heard the track I thought it was Hank
Marvin (of the Shadows) playing. Its got his style written (or
    tremeloed!) all over it.

In the UK they released a CD called 'Wicked Heart' which I gather is a
Greatest Hits complilation presumably because Chris Isaak was not that
well known over here until Wicked Heart. ALSO on the CD is a full
    instrumental version of Wicked Heart.

The August issue of Guitar World has the transcription to "Wicked
    Whatever". ;^)

(It also has "Hangar 18" and the Cheeseballs' "Uncle Tom's Cabin".)
