2125.0. "Bennett Hammond - awesome is the word" by CHEFS::IMMSA (adrift on the sea of heartbreak) Wed Feb 27 1991 03:30

    Anybody have any information on Bennett Hammond.

    Imagine Leo Kottke, Richard Thompson, John Fahey all wrapped in to one
    and there you have him.

    His album "Walking on Air" is superb - not a bad track on it.

    Check him out.

    He is located in the Boston area and plays in a duo with dulcimer
    player/vocalist Lorraine Lee. They specialize in Elizabethan and
    Renaissance instrumental music, as well as doing lots of folk stuff,
    with and without vocals.

    They play the Boston area coffeehouse circuit regularly.

2125.3Doing Workshop at NEFFBULEAN::CARSOND4T-VAX Engineering, T&NFri Apr 19 1991 12:178
	Bennett will be doing a workshop at the New England Folk Festival
	tomorrow ~noon. Since it's 6$ to get in you can't go wrong.
	I will be there, say hello. I have a "Avalon" guitar which is a
	SIGMA second. (Probably will be the only one, ;{).)

	Also of interest to anyone who likes acoustic blues, (my favorite!),
	is Kim Wallach. She is similiar in style to Rory Block.
