The T-60 with case in the Boston area is worth $250 *tops*. You may
find you won't be able to get over $200 for it.
Don't know what a boomerang pedal is...

| I was seriously thinking $150-$200. They're not really very popular,
except sometimes with guys that play C&W.
What *is* a boomerang pedal, anyway?

| I wasn't trying to slam country music (or Peavey guitars for that
matter, even though I never liked 'em much). Just saying that there's
not a lot of call for the old Peavey guitars. The only people I've
ever seen playing one were C&W musicians.
Maybe there's enough C&W players around to boost the prices/popularity,
but I doubt it.

| May I digress? Speaking of country music, I was watching Austin
City Limits last weekend, and they showed Ricky Skaggs playing
the most outrageous finger-picking tune I've ever heard. He
was using a Martin flat-top (appeared to have a cedar top).
Now back to the subject. I would take it to Daddy's or other
shops that do trades and find out what they will give you for it.
Figure whatever price they offer times 1.5 is probably the average
price in a private sale.

2050.7 | Not much money in trade-in..... | LUDWIG::PHILLIPS | Music of the spheres. | Thu Dec 06 1990 11:12 | 13 |
| Not to pick on Daddy's, but a friend of mine recently brought a
T-60 into Daddy's of Shrewsbury for a trade-in. I had seen and
played that guitar, and it was in excellent condition.
They only offered him $50 for it. Since Daddy's has regularly sold
used T-60s for ~$150 or so, this doesn't seem too farfetched.
Don't expect a lot of cash on a consignment deal there; you'd likely
be better off with a private sale. Good luck!
--Eric--
P.S. Pity it's the holiday season - *I* wouldn't mind owning a T-60!

| Seems as though the used market for musical instruments
and accessories is nothing short of flat as a pancake these
days.
I've had some stuff in the Want adds (pa accessories) that haven't
had a bite in months, and it's good stuff, price is very reasonable,
but noone calls.... {B^( Hmph.
So says all the other cronies I talk to who are trying to do the same.
I think you'll have to settle for giving it away, or hanging on to it
till it all of a sudden, becomes a hot seller.
(sadly, Peavy guitars=unlikely-chance on the latter..
I agree, though,, they are o.k. guitars but
I've never been too fond of them either.)
Trading it in will be more of an insult than anything else.. Consignment,,
well I guess, if they can sell it by hanging it up in the store, it's
worth the percentage off the top, as long as it's a reasonable
precentage. May have a better chance with a sale... Especially
this time of year, and many moms and dads out there looking for
a starte guitar.
try going it on your own though...
Price it reasonable-to low, and get it in the want adds..
Take yer best shot.
