2006.0. "Adrian Belew" by PSYLO::WILSON (Andy Partridge for Governor!) Tue Oct 23 1990 09:06

How does Adrian Belew get such a _unique_ sound from his electric on
"Pretty Pink Rose"? (I mean the leads and fills.) That song is WILD!

Has anyone read anything about how he gets that sound?

I'm not sure how he gets that sound but Todd Rundgren
has used an almost identical sound a few years back.

Wow, I'm amazed there isn't more written about Adrian Belew here. I
just picked up his late 1995 release "Guitar As Orchestra". It's
Belew playing all guitars - but there are very few guitar sounds
here. He used ~3 Roland synth modules with his Custom Shop
Stratocaster to record the album - done in his home ! Very cool.
It sounds like 20th century classical music. Some of it's pretty
    thick. Nice background music 8>).
