1984.0. "Anyone Ever Try This Head ?" by CSG001::KALINOWSKI () Thu Sep 27 1990 16:00

OK guys.....there's a brief discussion on these in 1303 but lets
have some real good feedback here.

Union music has some 100 wt. Jackson heads brand new on sale for 450$.
    (list price 1,100..blah blah blah)

What I want to know what those of you who tried it honestly thought
of it. I'm not to concrened with the Preamp as I will be using my
ADA into the power amp directly and bypass the preamp all together.

I know for the same amount of money I can get a 100 wt. tube power
amp but I'm looking at for a head incase the ADA (heaven forbid) needs
repairs and I left without a preamp. I can use the head with a tube
screamer as a possible replacement until the ADA gets fixed.

The price seems reasonable but I like some opinions on the head
itself. Should I haggle the price down further......should I go
for the 50 watt head (same price by the way..but I'm sure It can
be negotiated down) should I buy something else all together ? All
you music store window shoppers who have tried this head.....lets
have some help here please !

    Thanks guys...........Brian

Avoid the sucker. MUCH PROBLEMS.. They are made by the same folks who
make 'Sundown', a generic builder who builds what you want, for over
50 companies. I've repaired about 4 of them, and puked when I looked
inside. Cheap parts, and poor workmanship.
