| We're (the Grevemiester primarily) planning one for ASO. If it was a rehersal
for a bigger one down south I'd probably be interested in playing..

| Great idea Mark! Now, if someone could make all the "red tape"
go away it could go very smoothly. Besides it could be a "win win"
situation for everyone... tax write off for the musicians and the
bar/pub owners can write it off too!
YES... I'm interested and please let me know what turns up.
Rock on,
Fred

| This is like deja vu - I suggested this very same thing for this past DECjam
to Kristy (the organizer). She thought it was a great idea, but never followed
up on it....
I still think its a good idea, and I'm all for it. I know that I'd be willing
to put something together for it (hey Buck and Rick, sound like a good time
for the project we've been talking about???).

with a singer for something like this if I can find the players.
(Too add a little variety to the meal.)

Well, you can probably forget any help from the United Way if there's
booze invloved. You'd be better off having the United Way find
someplace for ALL ages. A lot of kids have money out there too
you know.
Sounds like fun, but I don't know much of the new stuff out there.
(is my age showing)??

| I'd be up for it. Most likely the rest of the band would, too.
Let me know if you want help putting this together.
- Dave (I guess the Northboro F/G would be a little cool for an
outdoor show in early November!)

Mark, is this a put-band-together-for-gig type of thing or would
"real" bands be OK, too?
I might be able to talk my band into doing the benefit.

1972.12 | Picker might be available | DUGGAN::SAKELARIS | | Fri Sep 21 1990 11:29 | 18 |
| I realize this might be a bit premature. After all, Mark only did just
post it.
I might be interested in this as a side project to play in. (Sorry Mark
that I can't help with all the logistics.) If someone out there in
readerland wants another guitar player, give me a holler. I live in
Merrimack, but work in Marlboro and can get together anywhere
inbetween although my degree of availabilty is an unknown at this point.
I play a Strat (one conventional, the other has 2 dual coil
pickups) thru a Fender "twin". I'm interested in R&B and Southern rock
especially. I'm not a Yngwie type, more of a Clapton or Dickey Betts type
- which is not to say that I'm of their caliber, just closer to their
style.
Drop me Email if you're so inclined and lets see what gives.

| Mark,
One thing you should consider is that the attendence at these DECjams
has been dwindling severely. Each time there have been much less
people.
While I'm all for charity, charging admission is probably not going
to help attendence and you may end up spending a lot to earn a little
for charity.
However, there are probably solutions for the attendence problem
(advertise to a wider audience than NOTES readers). I mention this
not to be discouraging, but to make sure you are aware that this
IS going to be a problem if we do things the same way we've done
them before.

IMO, not enough musicians and not enough interest. (plenty of interest
in United Way it seems, but not much interest in music)

RE: .8 Buck... hee hee, yer ticklin' my funny bone... asking me if I'm
gonna play ingwee or what ever it is is like askin' a one legged dude
(I'm valuing differences here!!!!) to win an ass-kicking contest. When
you hear the long awaited Notesfile tape, you understand that my
playing is sloooooow.... And I don't know this LeTekro dude... who is
he??? Probably a group, huh... You have an open invitation to join
us on Strat number one.. we'll tell em' that you've come up on a
consulting mission. Slow playing is cool, (keep saying that to
yourself...) now you know why I'm in the "Less is more " club or the
"It's not what he played, it what he didn't play" group... sigh.. and
you know what... I'm starting to get a big knuckle on my left hand
naughty finger!!!! Sheesh.. I'm just getting satisfied with my
vibrato and I'm going to get arthritis!!!! Dang, life is cruel some
times... Our local "yup" radio station hip female disc jockette (al
of 19 years of age) just introduced ... MR JETHRO TULL, no, I'm
serious, I hope she was just kidding... Honey, would bring me down
that medicine bottle... the one with the little green pills in it???
.12 We must play... or at least babble together Sack, do you have a
humbucker hidden somewhere for Dicky's stuff?
.14 Dave.. yayus!! Attendance will be no problem for our United Way
Thing.. everybody's got to be there!!! It's a work day... OK, Bill,
move them all into the cafeteria, to watch the sad film and shell out
their money!! I support United Way, BTW, it's just that they, don't
really "sneak up on you" do they? [;^o jamma jamma
[;^O hey how the heck do you make that smoking dude anyways??
