| There's only two ways to go with talent - you either enjoy it yourself
for it's own sake, or you try to use it to impress others.
In this scenario, if I suddenly woke up and found myself to be the best
guitar player in the world, I could just sit in my basement and enjoy
making music, like I do now. Or I could decide that I ought to be
getting something back for it, and go out and try to become a star.
Then I'd have to learn (all over again) that being successful in the
music business has very little to do with the level of talent a person
has. Which is not to say that successful musicians aren't talented -
only that there are many other factors involved, and commitments which
I personally don't want to make.
I think everyone should ask themselves if they'd really be any happier
if they were a much better musician than they are now. Everyone
probably thinks that, which is why we idolize the guitar gods. just
like everyone thinks that plastic surgery would make them happy, or
winning the lottery, or finding the "right" lover...
Be what you are, enjoy what you got. It won't get any better (or worse).

Geekers guys... I don't know about anyone else, but that last reply
made me want to go out and kill myself... Nothing like being depressed!
This entry, as it seems to me, was put here to let people go wild on
a dream... what happened there...!! (RIGHT) I'm quite sure that Joe
Satriani, or Eddie Vanhalen (whom is a personal friend of mine)(not)!
would be just as happy with their lives if they worked at MacDonolds
right...?? (WRONG!!)
If this really happened to someone (who is no one now), they would be
living it up like you read about...right? (YES'em!!) I know I would...
I mean imagen... Touring across the Globe playing Guitar for $$$$$$$$$
Gee, I don't know about it... "I think I'd rather work at my regular job"
(HAHA WRONG!!)
AS a matter of fact... I'd start the tour off by playing on WAYNES
WORLD..!!
My thanks to the guy who started the dream!

YES!YES!YES! if I could only play like Clapton, I'd be
satisfied (I think). Ram, I'd need to add a "weight loss" category,
but otherwise your list is perfect for me... you've changed my life...
I now have a clear vision of Steve Greve in the 90s!!!!! Gawd, I love
life..

Nobody wants great anything. Only a few similarly great players
would be capable of recognizing your greatness and they'd likewise
be in the same bind.

is fair... ha, ha, ha... geez...:)

Oh yeah, I remember that one - and then the little guy pops out from
behind the curtain and says "Follow the Yellow Brick Road!"
