      I've got two children from my first Marriage, one from my second
    Marriage, and she has a set of twins from her first and we also have
    a Foster Child.  There are 4 at home at the present time!
      I can't see Sugar Coating Reality or what I would call The DisneyLand
    Effect, on my children.  They are intelligent human beings and will
    have to cope with trying to SURVIVE in the REAL WORLD someday, and if
    they've only been to DISNEY LAND, they are going to be more than a
    little upset with the fact that Mommy and Daddy brought them up in the
    world of MAKEBELIEVE!
      Tis only cause I love them so that I want them to be prepared for the
    Real World, and from what I've seen in 40 years, IT AIN'T TO PRETTY!

WARNING:  This reply contains subject matter to deal with censoring
Though this may be frowned upon in the perfect idea of a GUITAR NOTES FILE,
{and Wether you other dudes/dudettes like it or not} we're gonna talk about
this for a minute..  bare with us, or go to next unseen..


That's censoring (to me.) It lets one know what is inside without
having to read, purchase or experience it first..  Compare it to
ingridents on a cerial box.. I'd be appauled if there wasn't one, although
I've not a clue what RIBOFIEN is, it's nice to know it's there!!

Bless you my son..  I have two, from my only and present (and never again)
marriage....  Twice that would indeed make me crazy..  The reason I said
this is the first thing that popped into my head when I read your note was
the New Kids on The Block discussions (add nausium) but the point is, I'd
rather ahve my daughter and son fighting over wether or not they're gods
gifts, or simply the biggest 'fags' in the world, then trying to contemplate
the sutblties of a guns-n-roses lyric!  By the same token, I'd like to
know that a certain recording may contain something that I *may* not want
my kids to be exposed to...  Can this be taken to far,, yeah it can,
but then again, what can't be dragged to the exteem ?

I think censorship (not to drag this out further) is justifiable when you
realize the things being censored, are probably rightly so for good reason. 
Agai, altho it can be taken to far, at least there is a vehicle to raise the
level of awareness.  Wether or not one agrees with the censoring is
another matter. If I didn't see a problem with something that was labeled,
that's my/our decsion to make.  Again, it's the level of awareness that
to me is the key.

which brings me to another point..

I think the censor ship IS infact more for us (parents) then kids (Which is
where our particular discussion is gravitating.)  We should have something
to let us kow that "2 Live Crew" is obcene with the wonderful surprise like
when shawn brought home a tape a friend made him, where Axle Rose was
expouinding the virtues of all the wonderful ideas he puts in his songs.

Better to know up front then take away after the fact..

When their 18, they've got their own decisions to make,, 
(Well, not that they can't today, but judgement is something else)

If we keep this chatter up for too many more lines, all the Guitar
noters are gonna get urked so I'll call this one a wrap..

I Guess I really am turing in to my parents.  (but if you ever see me wearing
plaid pants with a plaid shirt, and a pasily tie,,, you can salp me.)

        Sorry, guess I got carried away!  I'll try the MUSIC notesfile and
    see what happens there?
        Guess I've always associated GUITAR with MUSIC and MUSIC with
    MUSICIAN and MUSICIAN with ONE WHO CARES A GREAT DEAL ABOUT WHAT'S
    GOING ON AROUND HIM and ONE WHO CARES A GREAT DEAL ABOUT WHAT'S GOING
    ON AROUND HIM with MYSELF!
        I always considered one who knows when to quit, on the intelligent
    side, so may I be so kind as to bow out gracefully!
