I kow a guy who is simply deadly with an airbursh. A fantastic artist... However, I'm not sure how his equipment and expertise does on wood. He's done some heavy motorcycle gas tanks, a few jeep hoods and on canvas, he can't be beat. Righ tnow he's in athol. Ma. Depending on your location, I can try to run him down if you want.
1846.3 | Guitar Transfer ?? | SALEM::TAYLOR_J | Mon Dec 17 1990 09:00 | 10
I recently saw a Charvel-Jackson that had a picture airbrush on it { I believe it was a Nagel } and I thought it was intense, but at a price of $999.oo ...?? Anyways, I was wondering how I could get a poster or picture on my guitars body. Someone suggested using rubber cement and then coating the top with urathane. Has anyone done this and are there better ways to reach my objective ? Thanks "Gonzo"

I saw an add in a guitar rag recently that had static plastic transfers for your axe. Seems like a decent idea, since it'll protect the finish and look good. Static plastic is like those stickies that Jiffy Lube puts on your windshield. Jackson provides custom graphics of your choice; you PAY out the butt for a custom Jackson though... I saw one that had the side of a ship with a torpedo hole blown in the side of it. Quite awesome. I am also in love with snake skin covered Jacksons like Warren DiMartini has. Hubba Hubba. Jacksons are one of a kind axes. You pay the big bucks and they'll custom build you ANY kind of guitar you want. jc (Who thought of a LesPaul copy with a pointy headstock! ;) |
