1695.1 | peavey strikes again...and again! | HAMER::KRON | BILL-THE-WONDER-MUTANT | Wed Feb 28 1990 10:19 | 27 |
| I have a peavey midi-pedal board that controls 3 mono effects and
two stereo pedals including the sequence of the effects units.
So for example you had:
1.distortion
2.envelope follower
3.equalizer
4.stereo chorus
5.stereo delay
you can switch the order from :
input-1-2-3-4left-outputleft
4right-5right-outputright
to 1-4left-3-2-outputleft
4right-outputright
and any combination you can think of as long
as you don't try to merge the left and right signals back into
one again....Mine has 128 memory programs that can be set up
any way you please and it also can control midi devices also.
I got it dirt cheap (75$) at sam ash in manhattan and have yet
to really sit down and plan out a sequence of settings I would
like to have but I will soon....It also supplies 9v power for the
pedals.....
Regards,

Yeah - that's what they do. The only ones I'm aware of right now
are the Kitty Hawk Patch Bayettes, 360 Systems Audio Matrix,
DW Labs Quickchange (something like that), Rockman MIDI Octopus,
and the Rocktron/Bradshaw units. Obviously I can't speak for all
the above mentioned units, but I am familiar with the KH units
(a surprise to everyone).
The KH patch bayette 1 has six audio loops and two switch controls
that can be progammed into 128 patch locations. The loops can
accomodate your stomp boxes while the switches can control amp
channel switching (that's what I use them for) or any other
on/off/bypass type of signal. The patch bayette 2 has no audio
loops, six switch outs, a momentary switch out, and programmable
A/B out so you can switch to different amps. The only tricky thing
on these units is making sure you eliminate any ground loops, of
course once it's all set and hardwired in then you're all set.

There also was an Ibanez unit (now discontinued) in their UE line that
allowed you to patch up four or five pedals.

| The Kitty Hawk P.B.'s were listing out at $695! I bought my
last P.B.1 for $125 and P.B.2 for $100 but, as with all the last
few months of Kitty Hawk purchases, was from the warehouse blowout!
They originally would have run $400-500 from a dealer. I'm not really
sure if any are left. And I don't want to call because then I'll
probably oreder something!
The Peavey and Rockman are probably among the lowest priced units
out there. It's just a question as to wether they provide the
functionality.

| O.K., from relevant notes, I am beginning to gather what the various
features are. Can anyone fill in the blanks on the other units (rockman,
Ibanez)?
