Hopefully nobody was injured and I'm glad to here your equipment wasn't
there. I can just see the firemen holding John back while he screams,
"My Kitties are in there, lemme go!".

You're right- I'd have a heck of a time trying to rebuild my
arsenal. I'd probably have to fly to Europe or something and
pay through the nose.
I was expecting this. In the follow-up to the news story, the
T.V. reported interviewed a few distraught musicians. Some bands
are gonna have problems playing their jobs this weekend. I'm expecting
a few benefit coming up to help these guys out. I really feel sorry
for these guys, thousands worth of equipment up in smoke and I doubt
a quarter of them are covered by insurance. Sad!

| Hey, where is that warehouse? I used to play in Syracuse and my band at
the time, Short Fuse, used to rent space in a warehouse with a bunch of
bands. I'll bet it's the same place. I was always concerned about
fires in that place because people were coming and going at all times of
the day and night and were involved in all kinds of activities.

| Any idea wht the insurance "situation" was? Did these guys have their
own? Did the owner have insurance for the renters belongings? Sounds
like a bad scene.....

The warehouse was known as Albino's after the family that owned
it. Last tally was 24 bands without a rehearsal space and without
a lot of equipment. The total equipment loss is being estimated
as high as $600,000.
One band, Architect, is out $80,000 themselves. They had a whole
studio set up in there! The keyboard player had just got done setting
up a whole new rig. Among the missing keyboards: Ensoniq VFX-SD,
Ensoniq EPS, Roland D-50, and a Yamaha piano. OUCH! The word I got
was that these keyboards were vaporized.

| You would think that with $80,000 invested, they would surely
get Renters Insurance, without relying on the landlord. Especially
it that type of environment.

| RE: .5
I was dead serious. I practiced in a similar situation and we were
able to "add" to our landlord's policy coverage for our stuff; and at a
reduced rate as well....good deal.
