| Put the spring at the bottom where the block is - that way it will
return to the lower setting when your foot is off. I had to do
the exact same thing with my volume pedal a long time ago, and it
worked pretty good.
Scary (who lets the GP-8 be a spring and block sometimes)

1490.2 | use an eq pedal | ANT::MSTAR_MARKJ | | Thu Sep 21 1989 09:32 | 8 |
| I found this to be tough to accomplish with a volume pedal. I used
to use an MXR micro amp to accomplish this. It is active and gives
quite a bit of boost when you need it. An even better aproach is
to use a stomp box eq. This allows you to boost volume, and maintain
the tone you want without getting muddy.

1490.3 | minimum adjustment | SQUID::GOODWIN | | Thu Sep 21 1989 09:56 | 7 |
| There are quite a few volume pedals on the market which have a
minimum volume adjustment, so when you kick it back all the way
you're at your 'normal volume' and when you push it forward you
get your boosted volume. This type of pedal is slightly more
expensive than a basic volume pedal.

| Yeah, you beat me to it. My volume pedal has a minimum volume
adjustment on it... I think my pedal probably can be had new for
about $60 too. It's not an expensive one...

| disconnect the ground leg of the potentiometer(the one soldered
to the case),and add another with a wire connecting the 1st and
middle leg together(soldered to the original ground) and then connect
the third leg to the case and the chassis of the unit.
