I'm thinking of getting a low end frettless bass guitar for recording
bass lines as rithmic background section for my own amusement in
putting together jazz standards (plugging it directly into a Fostex 260
four track cassette recorder).
Does anybody know anything or has any first hand impressions about the
Yamaha RBX 200 F (available here in Italy for about US$ 215) or has any
opinion for the use I want to make out of it?
Thanks, E.

Yamaha basses I've tried in general seem to be well made and sound
good. At that price, you should be doing well. Is that a new price
or used? You couldn't touch a decent fretless here in the US for
$200.

Yep- YAMAHA definitely makes a good bass. I've played a few and
all were better far better than average......I'm still in love w/
IBANEZ though; nothing else will do it in my book
