Does anyone know if there is a store(s) in the
Boston area that rents decent guitars and basses
for short periods? My own guitar is "going into
the hospital" and I'd like to use something decent
for the three weeks I'll be without it.
If you know of such a place, do you have any idea what
the rates are? I realize, of course, that no one is going
to let a Paul Reed Smith out the door for $10.00 a week, on
the other hand, I do not want to pay so much that buying a
second guitar would be more practical!
Thanks-
Brian

Doesn't the "hospital" offer any kind of loaner program?

The "hospital" in this case is the reknowned Richard
Stanley. I didn't ask but I doubt it.
I also submitted the note to find out about decent
rental axes, keyboards, etc., so I might have the
opportunity to experiment with various makes and models
before committing myself to a new one.
I, for one, have never felt comfortable playing in music
stores. I just don't have the two-handed tap and whammy
bar thing together, additionally, I haven't finished
memorizing "Eruption." :-)

I know that Wurlitzer's in Boston used to rent instruments several years ago for a very reasonable price. I don't know if this is still the case, but it may be worth a phone call. -Dan | |||||
