The Gibson equivalent was known as an EB-2. It was also available
in a two pickup version, the EB-2D.
Don't know where you're from, but in Boston and NYC these often
surface for under $200, although I haven't seen many around lately
no doubt because they've been discontinued for almost 20 years.

| I live in Geneva but I travel quite otfen to the US. If I have not
found one in Europe before my next travel, I will give it a try when
I am over.

| Harmony also made semi-hollow bass guitar similar to the Epiphone
and the Gibson. Can't remember the model designation right now,
but I could look it up if you're interested. These were very nice
basses and were even used by a few well know pros. Best of all,
the original list price was $200; a good buy if you run across one.

Guild Starfire basses are similar. My old bass player bought
one in 1969.

| I just traded my Yamaha Semi-Hollow (emerald green) for a Rich 4001,
but I really hated to part with it. It had great action and excellent
sound , especially the low tones. The only thing I didn't like about
it was it's shape. The larger body made it uncomfortable to play for
long periods of time.
