765.1 | I have some plans | ANT::JACQUES | | Wed Aug 10 1988 12:30 | 7 |
| I have an old Altec Lansing book that includes some plans for monitors,
but they are all fairly big, made to acommidate a 15" and horn.
I also have some Klipsch drawings that you could referance. If
you would like copies, let me know and I will dig them up.

765.2 | how about guitar cabinets? | BOEHM::SUDAMA | Living is easy with eyes closed... | Wed Aug 10 1988 13:42 | 5 |
| While we're on the subject, does anyone have plans for a small
speaker cabinet to accomodate a 12" guitar speaker, to be used as
an extension? I want something about the size of a combo amp.

| Good topic! A friend is looking at building some new bass cabinets
too.
Are there any books on speaker cabinet design (that aren't too overly
technical, eg lots o calculus) available. Maybe ones which contain
plans.

Re: .2
For a combo amp type cabinet, almost anything will do if you will
have an open back, which essentially removes the cabinet from the
acoustical equation (in theory anyway).
Re: .3
Radio Shack sells an inexpensive book which has plans but is oriented
more towards hi-fi and is somewhat dated. Most speaker manufacturers
will send you plans for free on request for cabinet designs using
their drivers.
