I've seen some Robins around. Mr. C had a couple maybe 2 years
ago. Kurlan's had one (and might still have it). The model I
was impressed with was the Artisan. It looked kind of like an
SG with a beautiful flamed maple top. The factory set-up on
these guitars was to have a ridiculously low action, like maybe
1/32 inch at the 22nd (or 24th, i forget) fret. Played real nice.
Priced at about $625. Robin has also been runnung an ad in GP
the past few months for custom-building guitars.

Robins are made in Texas. Most of their guitars are Fender types,
but the previously mentioned Artisan has an SG body with Les Paul
construction (arched flame maple cap on mahogany body).

Their guitars are competitively priced with Ibanez, etc.

A lot of bands from Texas (surprise) use them; the T-Birds and Stevie
    Ray Vaughan for two.

Their most obvious feature is that they have turned the headstock
around so that it looks like they have lefty necks.

Kurlan's I believe is still a dealer if you're in MA.

I was in Kurlan's on Saturday. They're discontinuing the Robin
line. They had two models left: 1. A Telecaster style guitar called
"The Ranger". It was sunburst w/three pickups and I really liked
its looks (didn't play it). It lists for $799 and they were dumping
it for $399 -- I thought about testing it out, cuz I've been looking
for a new axe, but I'm still gonna build my Tele w/humbuckers. 2.
A SG/Les Paul type guitar (vy. nice) w/double cutaway & humbuckers.
I didn't look at this one too closely, but the finish was really
mint. I didn't inquire as to the price.

I have a robin double neck, and it appears to be a really nicely made
instrument. It's sort of a tele on the bottom and a p-bass on top.
Nice sunburst finish - plays well - quite heavy though.

go.I found them to be an excellant guitar.I can't remember the models
but one was a reverse headstock.

697.7Robin Doubleneck sighting in NH! <Cool guitar>LUNER::ABATELLIWho knew?Tue Sep 01 1992 09:0316
I played a Robin doubleneck last weekend... cool guitar! Bass neck on
top with P-bass style pickups that sounded nice and a 3 p/u layout for
    the guitar in Humbucker(neck)/Strat(middle)/Tele(bridge) configuration.
Tele type controls (only 2 controls) :^( and a toggle switch to switch
between the two necks. Overall, the guitar(s) played very well although
I thought the guitar sounded alittle noisier than my Fender Strat. It
also may have been the amp/wiring of the store... etc. Who knows? Oh
yeah... the color was a yellow clearcoat to allow the grain of the
wood to show. I normally would turn my nose up on a "yellow" guitar,
but this color was cool! I don't remember if it had a hardtail, or a
Fender style whammy though. Can't remember evrything! ;^) As far as
weight, it wasn't any heavier than my LP Custom, but it was heavier
than my Strat. What can I say? I can say no more.

    Rock on,
Fred (who'd buy this Robin doubleneck if the price was right)
697.8Wedge-V Robin GuitarPCBUOA::UTZTue Apr 25 1995 15:3620

I was wondering if anybody knew the value of an odd Robin Guitar that I
have. It was made in the mid-eighties and they called it the Wedge-V.
It's hard to describe it's shape, but I'd have to say it looks like an
upright letter "V" that has been squished down and pulled on the left and
right sides. The neck effectively protrudes from the side of the "V".

The President of Robin Guitars told me they sold for about $1400 new.
He quit making them in the late eighties. Has anyone ever seen one of
these for sale? Can you comment on it's price?

I bought mine at an auction about four years ago. It is autographed by
a pop-metal band called Slaughter (but I'm sure the autographs will rub
    right off ;)

    Any info would be appreciated.

    James
