    I played one of those Guild Ashbory basses, and almost bought one.
    They are 30" long, and have silicone strings with a piezo pickup
    and active EQ.
    
    THE *ONLY* problem....the silicone strings cause my sweaty little
    hands to make contact noise with the strings, and the noise was
    sooooo bad, it prevented me from buying the gadget.
    
    Has anybody else tried/bought one of these suckers???
    
    Cost: $400 with case, 2 sets of strings, and talc (!!) at the Hollywood
    Guitar center
