    	WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT SEYMOUR DUNCAN PICKUPS????I HAVE BEEN
    	THINKING ABOUT REPLACING ONE OR BOTH OF MY PICKUPS IN MY ES335
        WITH SEYMOUR DUNCAN "59"S WICH ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ALL MOST THE
    	SAME AS "PAF's" ANY ONE HAD ANY EXPERIENCE WITHTHEM.

	Personally, I think Seymour Duncan pickups are excellant. I recently replaced my Telecaster pickups with quarter pounders, and have noticed a huge difference in output, harmonics, tone. The guitar sounded really dead before, but the Duncans have brought it back to life. As far as the '59's are concerned, these are very authentic copies of the PAF pickups in both sound and looks. Some people may dissagree, but in some regards the Seymour Duncans may be better than buying original PAF's and installing them in your guitar, because the old original pickups would tend to vary greatly from one to the next as far as the number of windings, type of wire and potting used, output, and color of bobins, but the Seymours will be consistant, and are available in any color bobbins you want including black/black white/white, or zebra black/white. One other consideration you might consider is the use of a coil cut switch, which cuts the pickups down to single coil, for that "thin" sound. Rather than just having 3 sounds available, you would essentially have 6 sounds available. The only problem being, where do you place the switch. Some people drill a hole and install another toggle switch, but I believe you can possible get a pot with a pullout function that will facilitate the coil cut, without drilling any holes in your guitar. Either way, Seymour Duncan pickups get my vote of confidence !! Mark Jacques

	I think they are great too. I have two humbuckers in a Boogie Bodies Strat guitar and they sound good, though I don't recall off hand which model they are. If you decide to go for it, let us know how they sound. frank

	A couple more thoughts about pickups. As long as you are using dual coil humbuckers, you should be totally happy with Duncans. However, if you use single coils, and are fussy about noise, switching to a Duncan single coil may give even more noise, as it puts out a stronger signal, and picks up hum and noise better. I have seen many people replace single coil pickups in their Fenders, and other guitars with EMG low impedence active pickups, as these offer a wide range of tones, and totally noise immune operation. I know you are talking Dual coil 59's so this is not a concern, just thought I'd mention this for your information. Mark J.
