Hi there, Any info out there on setting up a Fender Strat System II tremelo ? My friend has just purchased a second-hand model (No documentation supplied ) and is not having much fun at all. I recall reading somewhere ( GP ?) that the unit should be set so that when the arm is pulled up, the note is raised a semi-tone - Is that correct ? Thanks in advance for any info. Gordon Fitzsimmons ( Scotland ).

The problem with that idea is that each string will change it's tone differently, based on their thickness. My setup gives me approx 1/2 tone on the high E and 1 8ve on the low E, but that's a wonder bar - probably won't be able to do that with anything else 'cept maybe a Floyd Rose. BTW, that's pushing - don't expect the same response on a pull, or you might hurt yourself. Jon |
