Does anyone know anything about a new creature form Roland called a GT-1 or GK-1....it's a synth interface. I saw a short blurb in the Roland User's Group that didin't explain exactly how it can be used. I'm curious if I can drive my JX3-P with it, what it costs and how well it works. thanks dave

I have in front of me this months International (SIC) Musicican a U.K. mag. In which ROLAND say the following. "The GK1 pickup fitted to your own guitar provide a link between the guitar and the GM70 controller. The GM70 is really a midi Brain which takes care of all MIDI information" Nuff Said ? BTW the review was quite favorable. Paul. | |||||

Otay. Here's what roland says. "The GK-1 pickup fitted to your own guitar provides a link between the guitar and the GM-70; or a "G" series guitar (G-505, G-707) can be used. The GM-70 is really a midi "brain" that allows simultaneous control of up to 4 synths. The 'brain' takes care of all the midi info, allowing the user to come up with some sophisticated combinations. A typical system would consist of a GM-70, MKS-70 synth and/or MKS-50 synth." It also shows a picture of a very happy Mr. Jay Stapley (?) with about $10k of rack mounts behind him. List in the UK for GK-1; #195 GM-70; #755 For us, that would depend on the exchange rate, but you can get a rough estimate by taking a third of the UK list and adding it on. If you would like me to photocopy the reviews and assorted ads, send me some mail, although I'll be on vacation starting from Sat. Mar. 28. Hope this gives you an idea. regards, Craig |
