Hi, Can you help me locating a black face Fender band master head
with reverb? I have one with no reverb that I would like to trade.
If you have seen one or next time you go into a store please take
a look. Thankyou very much for your help.

Not to be discouraging, but Fender introduced the "Bandmaster Reverb"
around 1967-68 which had the silver faces.:^) So what your asking for is not
possible unless you really want the silver faced Bandmaster?

It may be true, but I have been told that Fender made both with
and without reverb.

I'm afraid I've got to throw in with Rick. Both the Bandmaster
and Showman amps were without reverb until they went to "silver-face"
models. Best bet if you want a black-face model is to buy an outboard
Fender reverb. These have the advantage of adding a DWELL control
which adjusts the reverb sound in some arcane way but gives you
more sounds than a simple "reverb" control which is really only
a mixer. The Fender reverbs when they can be found are around $100
used. Try some of the vintage amp dealers in Boston or NYC. Or
else just buy the silver face model. I'm not so sure that CBS amps
all stink, in fact some of the earlier obnes are probably pretty
good although I would hesitate about getting one from the late 70's.
Just try out the amp and if it sounds good go buy it. By the way,
you might be interested to know that the Super Reverb is essentially
the same amp as the Bandmaster but is self-contained with four 10's
and has the reverb on board.

Yes, I looked in the 'Fender history' book and they started to make
reverb bandmaster in 67. To me whether the amp is black face or
silver, does not matter. What is important is I want the amp and
the speaker cab to look the same. Anyways, thakyou for your inputs.
Now, If anyone sees the outboard Fender reverb, please let me know.
Thamkyou, Miguel...
