I've bought some drum equipment from them and all went well. A friend
bought a tascam four-track tape machine from them and had some
hassles. It took them a long time to get it to him but he got it
in the end. Sorry - no info on guitars, but I think I'd be a bit
skeptical about ordering an acoustic guitar by mail.

| True about a box by mail. Supposedly, there's the 'Always your
money back if you're not totally satisfied' and hassling over that
would be no fun, back and forth and so on. Would certainly want
to see, touch, play it before purchase but these are all to be factory
firsts ... finally did talk to someone there just after I wrote
the first note.
Just might be worth it for the price difference ... about $500.

| We've used them a bit, and have had no problems, other than
the typical card or phone call every now and then with an "Out of
Stock" note on it.
Great for things like:
A gross of picks. (can't beat there price)
A case of strings....
A bunch of Drum sticks.
A few mikes../cables...
A couple of pickups....
nothing major though...
Turn around time was o.k. too.

| I bought a guitar from them around '77. I did drive down to pick
it up however. Not really because I distrusted them but mostly
out of fear of what UPS would to the axe. Their prices have always
been very low. The service they gave me when I went down to pick
up the guitar seemed fine, I don't know for sure because I had my
hand in a cast at the time. BTW they gave me the mailorder price
in the store.

| Is that Music Emporium out of El Cajon(possibly San Diego) California?

Emporium ( rockville, Md.) and I can't get a listing from either 800
information or business info. Have these folks gone out of business?

I thought that Music Emporium had changed their name to East Coast
Music Mall. I don't have the number with me but they have had the
very bestest prices and quick delivery (on the right coast, that
is) of all mail order companies I've dealt with.

| I have to say too. I wanna turn !!
I recently picked up a '83 Gibson LP Custom...white on white, gold hardware,
little cranks on the tuners, and a Gibsonm Kahler-type tail (that I don't use).
Previously owned by a drummer who took it out of the case once a year even if
it didn't need it. Absolutely showroom. It still sits mostly, but it surely
is pretty.
So between the gibbo, he strat and my two Ibanez, I have a full quiver.
Plus I got a Lexicon 'verb and MIDI controller for a SONG!

| All the talk about pan pedals and such got me to thinkin' (rut-roh!)
Wouldn't a Surf Board style pan pedal be cool as hell? You could bang
heads and pan in time to the music...
