| DECtalk Software Version 4.3, February 18, 1997.
DESCRIPTION:
DECtalk Software Version 4.3 for Digital UNIX are applications and
application programming interfaces based on Digital Equipment Corporation's
prominent text-to-speech synthesis technology.
DECtalk Software allows applications to convert standard ASCII text
in American English into highly intelligible and natural sounding
speech, playable through audio hardware on AlphaStations and Intel
personal computers.
This DECtalk Software product supports operation:
Digital UNIX V3.2c or later (including Digital UNIX V4.0)
ENHANCEMENTS:
Version 4.3 of the DECtalk Software has the following enhancements:
* Multiple instances of the Speech object in a single process.
* Runs on the new version of Digital UNIX with the changes to
the posix threads package.
INSTALLATION:
NOTE: Before installing this version, please close any already
running DECtalk applications and uninstall any existing DECtalk
Software.
