Stefan,
I think you are asking two separate questions.
1) Is the AHA-1540CF supported on Windows NT 4.0?
Yes.
2) Is the AHA-1540CF supported on Jensen?
My guess is that the 1742 rule is mandatory for a boot
device, but I can't see why a 1540CF would not work as
a secondary SCSI host adapter.
Someone who knows for certain can probably clear this up.
Regards,
/Bill

| Hello Bill,
You are right.
The main question is if the AHA-1540CF can be used in Jensen.
Because,no action was made on hardware level to detect new adapter.
FW is from V3.8 CD and ECU 1.8.
Perhaps the only SCSI adapter which is supported in Jensen is AHA-1740,42.
Stefan.

.1 is absolutely correct. The 1742 needs to be there always. Other cards
might work as secondary controllers.
In .2 - the 1540 is an ISA card so the ECU has no way of knowing that it is
there.

| You don't *need* a 1742 the 1740 will work just as well just without
Floppy support
Having tried all manner of other cards ISA and EISA I can say that none
will do the job.

Is the job:
- seen by console, and works as primary (boot) controller
or
- seen by NT, and works for data disks

I have managed to get a 1510 to work as a data device after booting with
a 1740!
