609.0. "how do I install a mylex EISA?" by 45862::HILTON (Save Water, drink beer) Wed Apr 23 1997 18:19

    Further to my last note, I got hold of an EISA Mylex board, when I plug
    it in and power on, I go into the ECU and it's looking for config files

    APBO2CD3.cfg / !PBO2CD3.cfg

    which I haven't got. If I force it to use the generic Mylex cfg file on
    the ECU, it goes back into the ECU looking for the above files.

    When I power on I get message:

    slot 2 ID configuration error.

    Any ideas?

Have you already searched http://www.mylex.com/ for the config files?

609.2Maybe card has wrong IDNESBIT::afirm1.ayo.dec.com::GordonGordon McNabThu Apr 24 1997 09:3411
If this file is not shipped with the card then it could be that the card
itself is reporting the wrong EISA ID to the configuration utility. Then the
ECU would be looking for the wrong filename on the disk.

Just something to look out for,

609.3what do I do next then?CHEFS::hhlms1.lzo.dec.com::hiltongThu Apr 24 1997 10:287

609.4Is the card broken?NESBIT::afirm1.ayo.dec.com::GordonGordon McNabThu Apr 24 1997 10:5310
If the card ID is wrong... maybe it says what it should be somewhere in the
manual... then the card is most likely broken.

I had one EISA card that showed the wrong ID but showed a different one each
time the ECU ran.
