600.0. "ARC Date and Time Illegal" by QBUS::E_BURKHALTER () Fri Feb 21 1997 20:44

A field engineer had to replace a DEC2000 Model 300 system module.
These are the symptoms he had.

DEC2000 mModel 300 sys mod 54-20674-04 Rev B03 when running
ARC to update time/date, it goes through the procedure
the gives a message something like:

Illegal Data Format. The SRM is 2.2 and the ARC is 370.
FE has other systems like this that run fine. The system
runs UNIX and the time and date under SRM works fine.

    FE used 1.8 ECU.

The format under ARC under the other DEC2000 is different
from this system. FE says that under ARC on the other
systems he enters time and data on a single line.

On this system it ask time and date on seperate lines.

Is this a know problem or a DOA module?

Ed,

Is it the way the ARC console is asking for the date to be typed in that is
different from the other system? Or is it that the date set in UNIX causes
the ARC console to say that it is an illegal format?

     Hi Folks

I'm the originator of this call. I have 2 system boards
doing the same thing. In the arc menu when you try to fix
the time which is the first thing on the list, a different
screen comes up than with older rev boards, it seems to
have something to do with year 2000.

This is what it looks like

                                                   0/0/2000 12:09:07 AM

     enter the new date

        Enter Month [1-12] : <2>
        Enter Day [1-31] : <25>
        Enter Year [00-99] : <97>

     enter time

        Enter Hour [0-23] : <11>
        Enter Minute [0-59] : <11>
        Enter Second [0-59] : <11>

Error: Illegal date or time, press any key to continue

anykey gets you back to arc menu loop loop loop.

I tried to give it a year after 2000 ie: 01 with no luck

I got my system to go because it's unix

     Any Ideas.

     regards Pat...
