5349.0. "ckermit display problems" by MUDIS3::AGRAF () Wed Jan 15 1992 09:03

    I have a problem with ckermit for the amiga. I use it to log into
    an Unix-machine where I set the terminal to vt100 ( TERM=vt100 ).
    I have removed the window borders by patching ckermit to use conman
    and do now have 80 chars/line..
    It works fine with some programms, but the display gets often messed up
    by several programms like nn or elm.. I think they use a control
    sequence to insert a line which the Amiga-console is not able to
    emulate.

    Any suggestions for modifications on either the Amiga or the Unix-side?

    			Thanks

    There are several other Amiga communications programs (mostly FREE,
    even) that do good 80-column VT100 (and even VT200) emulation and
    support the KERMIT file transfer protocol (plus X/Y/ZMODEM). Why not
    try one of them instead?
5349.2Hosts sends strange characters....MUDIS3::AGRAFMon Jan 20 1992 06:4313

    The problem is: the unix machine seems to be using an odd protocol
    when logging in via modem: With any terminal programm other than
    ckermit I get a lot of strange characters after the CONNECT1200
    and the communication hangs...

    This does not occurr when connecting to another host and then
    logging in via telnet or rlogin... ( alas, the host unix machine I
    connect to in this way will be unaccessible soon, thats why I use
    ckermit... )
