Hi,
I was amazed to see a small (but perfectly formed) mention of our
beloved machine in the UK edition of DIGITAL today! On the back page
is an article "IBM sadly discovers that breaking up is hard to do".
There is a section discussing the reasons for OS/2 flopping, containing
the lines
"If only OS/2 had been launched with the PC AT in August 1984, it would
now dominate the industry.
Smart.
IBM didn't think of it way back then. But the Xerox Star was well known
at the end of the 1970s, Apple had been shipping the Macintosh since
January 1984, Microsoft had already announced Windows, Digital Research
was working on GEM, and the graphical, multi-tasking Amiga home micro

had been shown at CES."
