    Hello,

This morning, I got the following errors when I tried to connect to
    Ab20 through DECWRL::FTPMAIL.

How can I get more infos why the connection was refused ?

    Thanks and best regards
    Phil

    re: -1

The return address is automatically set by DECWRL::FTPMAIL and had
    always been ENET.
    I will retry this afternoon....

The return address is for DECWRL to find you once it has the stuff you request.

I believe this is sort of equivilent to DECNET "remote node is no longer
accepting connects" or "remote is not currently reachable"

In other words, maybe they rebooted the machine, or were doing backups
and temporarily disabled access etc.

Come on, it's a UNIX machine! :-)

Could it mean, that you have to do a 'connect' first? I seem to remember
that the help said you MUST do one, even if you use the defaults.

    re: enet vs. ENET

Capitalization is ignored in Internet addresses, at least by WRL.

    re: .0 in general

Chances are that AB20's FTP service was either running with the maximum
allowed number of connections (from other people) or turned off. Just
a suggestion... for future problems please include the message you sent
*to* FTPMAIL. The reply message is incomplete.
