Hello, Does anyone know of a student deal either in the U.K. or in France for the AMIGA3000 ? Can you use a vr241 with a 3000 ? Is the RGB output the same as the AMIGA500 "17.5Hz" making the use of the Sony GDM1950 still impossible with the 3000 ? Cheers, Patrick

5254.2 | Hmm, should work w/vr241 | VERELL::BOAEN | Sat Dec 14 1991 22:38 | 8
Hmm, I think there's a way to get around the A3000's internal flicker fixer circuit and get the std Amiga analog RGB outputs at normal NTSC video scan frequencies. These will work with the VR241. However, the flicker fixer output won't, it's 30something Khz which the VR241 can't track. You need a multiscan class monitor for that scan rate. I don;t have an A3000, so can't verify this. Maybe someone else will confirm??- Verell

re .2 The Amiga 3000 has 2 video connectors. One is the standard 23 pin video without flicker fixer the other is a 15 pin ( VGA ) connector that comes from the flicker fixer. Steve P.

Thanks for your reply but even in France where there is a student deal the 3000 was out of range. So I went for a 500Plus....... Cheers, Patrick |
