5251.0. "frame grabber question" by AIAG::DESENBERG () Fri Dec 06 1991 13:55
This question is from my Mom, who makes wonderful videos
with her Amiga 2000 (and videocamera and editing machines
and ...). She'd like to know if there is a frame grabber
that does not use the video slot. She lives in Sarasota,
Florida and says that she has been unable to find one locally.
I'm sure there are important details missing from this question,
but I don't know much about the hardware and software involved,
so please excuse the incompleteness.

| Two choices come to mind if the video can't be paused with a cristal clear
picture: Framegrabber by Progressive Peripherals (about $500) and LIVE
(about $250). These two will grab frames in real time. There are others
but I don't remember what they are called. Then there is the Video Toaster
which does a great job of many things and even tough it uses the video slot
AND is expensive ($2500) is still THE video peripheral.
There are a number of slow scan digitizers like DCTV and DigiView which can
be considered as well.
