NEW YORK, NEW YORK, U.S.A., 1991 DEC 3 (NB) -- Commodore
International Limited has announced that unit sales of Amiga
computers reached the three million mark during the month of
November 1991. Commodore said that this milestone was reached
twelve months after it reached the 2,000,000 mark in November
1990.
The Commodore announcement provided background on the sales
history of the Amiga, stating, "Shipments of the Amiga computer
product line began in September, 1985. Sales reached the one
million mark in March, 1989, three and one-half years after
introduction. The two million mark was reached one and one-half
years later in November, 1990. With increasing unit sales,
Commodore has now reached the three million mark in twelve
months."
The Amiga product line is comprised of the Amiga 500 and 500+
targeted at the home computing market and the Amiga 2000 and
3000 series focused on the professional video production desktop
publishing and multimedia office productivity markets.
