| Re. John
Me, I have a Philips 8833 (the old one). The one I have now is quite good .. but
I returned back *three* 8833s and a CBM 1084 (it has worked for only few hours).
Watch the monitor for few minutes to see if there is now image interruption on
the screen (a short one in the middle of the screen). I think both monitors have
the same origin. They accept also video input from your VCR (and you can switch
from one computer to video while working with the Amiga). As a video monitor,
the image is very good. Try to look also for an eventual cheap (does it exist?)
multi-sync monitor. It may be good in the future.
Actually I bought a new monitor, a Taxan 795 but not to use it for the Amiga.
The Taxan is for my new .. 486/33 PC clone. It's three times more expensive but
I wanted 1024x768 (256 colors).

PS. A TV with a SCART video connection may also do the job but the quality is
a bit reduced and you'll have to block the TV while using the computer.

5233.6 | portable terminals, cheap, B&W OK | DFN8LY::JANZEN | Thomas MLO21-4/E10 223-5140 | Thu Nov 28 1991 12:50 | 5 |
| I need a portable little black and white monitor so I can
run the Amiga for shows or musical recordings.
What do you recommend? It should be an NTSC TV monitor.
I once had a little Sony B&W set with a line in, but it is gone now

5233.7 | Try the equiv monitor for less. | SDOGUS::WILLIAMS | TOPGUN | Fri Dec 06 1991 15:06 | 7 |
| Commodore has gone thru a plethora of manufacturers each with their own
problems. Currently I think C= is using Magnavox (I can't remember the
model number). You can get the equiv monitor as a 1084 for cheaper if
you buy the Magnavox direct. Send me EMAIL at SDOGUS::Williams if you
want the model number and I'll send it to you.
