| It's a multi player text adventure game in which the players can build
their own rooms, objects etc. These objects are defined using a
language (lisp-like?) and can be quite complex. There's a version
running on the Decnet somewhere. It's neat because there are ongoing
quests and stuff in the world; players build quests for other players
to try and before long the world is quite an intricate place.

| Sounds great,
Some friends of mine do the same thing with BoulderDash (=Emerald-Mine)
The fields they build get more and more difficult to play, but they're
having great fun.
Please let me know if it's available on EOT::
Thanks, Frank Ederveen

| Well, uploading... I'd like to but I don't know how to do it. I don't
have any problems getting it on the VAX. But where should it?
Is EOT:: the right place? Do I have to simply copy it to the EOT::
games-directory? Or where or what?
Is there interest for the 2.4.5 version? It comes complete with a
mudlib in a lharc-file.
Explanation of MUD: MUD stands for Multi-User-Dimension ( or Dungeon?)
It is a well-known game on the internet that allows many users to play
at the same time. It is an text-adventure-like role-playing game.
The objective is to gain experience points and become wizard. Wizard
can add their own things tho the game by programming.
In LPMud this is done via an object-oriented version of C.
LP stands for Lars Pensijl, the author of this mud-system. There are
other mud-systems like DikuMud, AberMud etc. which I don't know much
about. The fun of MUD comes from playing with many other players,
chatting, helping each other, fighting each other and finally, as a
wizard, modifying and enhancing the game...
If anybody is interested, I could mail you the list of MUDS on
internet.
Is there a Mud on DECNET? If so, how do I reach it?

All new programs should be put in
EOT::AMIGA:[UPLOAD]
I will then move them to the correct directories.

| Yeah, there's a few MUDS on DECNET; there's a conference for them but
I can't remember where at the moment. I'll post the location when/if
I remember.
RE Emerald Mines... I've got four of these disks made by various
people! They're great fun! I've got a designer disk and a trainer disk
too. Didn't know people still designed the levels with enthusiasm
though!

Hi. I'm an LPMud fan too. If you want version 3 of LPMud,
you can get it at:
PLANE::"/library/amud/bin.lzh"
and the source files:
PLANE::"/library/amud/amud45_2.lzh
the mudlib for version 3 (given to me by the Game God) is at:
SIGABA::newmudlib.sav (VMS save_set).
I've not been able to get Version 2.x.x.x, or version 3.x.x.x
working on my Amiga yet.
If you want the notes conference for the Mud I play, then
add entry mecca::lpmud
To play the game you need a program called MUCKER.
I think Mucker.exe can be found in SIGABA too. Don't remember.
If not, just send me some mail and I'll help you. If you get
Mucker.exe, simply do this:
$ mucker :== "mcr disk:[directroy]mucker.exe"
$ mucker/term=vt/attach=plane/lpmud
Hope this helps.
Regards,
John L.
