5212.0. "VLT and V2.04" by VERGA::MACDONALD (Home of Digital Realtime Pubs) Mon Nov 18 1991 09:49

    I am running V2.04. I loaded VLT 5.045 the other day and proceeded to
    change the screen colors, or so I thought. I pulled down the VLT
    screenb menu and selected a 4-color screen (I believe the default was 8
    colors). Next I pulled down the pallette adjuster and selected a color.
    As soon as I did that the Amiga gurued. This was a repeatable failure.
    I went back to VLT 5.034 and found the same to be true there. Has
    anyone else experienced this problem with VLT under 2.04?

    I recently upgraded to v2.04.  I believe I am using VLT v5.034.  I
    changed the colors to VLT several times after the v1.3 to v2.04
    conversion with no crashes or problems. I will double check the
    version tonight.

5212.2CLOVAX::COBURNGrowing older, but not up...Mon Nov 18 1991 15:0711
    Willy Langveld, the author of VLT recently (yesterday?) posted to
    USENET comp.sys.amiga.datacomm that it was a bug in VLT because it used
    an undocumented feature of Intuition that went away in V2.0x.

    Willy implied that the problem was to be fixed in the next release of
    VLT. He also implied that C= may change V2.0x to behave as V1.3.

    Basically VLT expected some data structure to have a pointer in a place
    that no longer has it.

5212.3I double checked and it works fine for meDECWET::DAVISMark W. Davis 206.865.8749Mon Nov 18 1991 23:368
    I am at home now using VLT version 5.034. I just changed the screen
    format from 8 colors to 4 colors then changed the colors. I also
    returned the screen format from 4 colors to 8 colors and changed the
    colors again with no problems. Hmmmm... I am using VLTjr not the full
    blown VLT.

5212.4WB screen anomalyDECWET::DAVISMark W. Davis 206.865.8749Tue Nov 19 1991 09:2211
    I've been playing around with the screen settings in v5.034 since this
    note was posted and haven't been able to get VLT to guru my machine but
    I also haven't been able to change the FONT when the screen is set to
    WB rather than CUSTOM. I am running an 8 color WB with 3 different
    font styles. If I set the screen to CUSTOM changing the font works
    fine but when setting it to WB VLT defaults to what appears to be an x
    point font(?) (narrow and tall) and only uses the center 1/3 of the
    window. i.e. there is a 1.5" left margin. Any ideas?
