5207.0. "LHWARP V1.40 Problems" by NZOMIS::SWALES () Fri Nov 15 1991 02:30
I am trying to unpack a .LHW file I've just downloaded using VLTjr and
ZMODEM. The file was compressed with WARP Ver 1.39. I'm using Ver 1.40
of LHWARP.
After my command 'LHWARP WRITE 1 DELUXE-DMS.LHW' I get prompted to load
the destination disc in drive 0. Having loaded a blank formatted disc
the error message 'unable to allocate trackdisc.device memory buffer'
appears.
I've had no problems with ZOO, ARC, LHARC, WARP, DMS102, yet I cannot
get LHWARP to work.
Checked MOUNTLIST DF0: and DF1: are both defined, I have BUFFERS = 20
for both drives, I've checked s:Startup and I have ADDBUFFERS = 20 for
both Drives, and finally I've upped the STACK for the CLI process to
100,000.
Run out of idea's, but bet it's simply solved.
So helppppppppppp...

| Sorry, my previous note should have read, 'the file was compressed with
LHWARP 1.39'
Cheers

| I got the same thing with lhwarp. I glommed Lhwarp 1.39 and tried it
and got an error saying something like, could not allocate
trackdisk.device. I threw everything connected with lhwarp away! No
more problems.

I'm not at all sure about this as I haven't used LHWarp in quite a
while.... but I think you need to use an UNFORMATTED disk to un-Warp
something. I may be getting confused with some other compression
program, but give it try and see what happens.
