5185.0. "How many amps consumed?" by CSSE32::SMITH (Reality, just a visible imagination?) Sun Nov 10 1991 22:37

Has anyone ever seen any data on how much the Amiga 2000 motherboard
consumes in amps of +12 and +5? I found what the power supply is rated
at but not how much a enpty 2000 uses.

I'm trying to determine if I'll have enough to add a 3rd hard disk in
the case on a hardcard type of frame. Heres what I have so far...

    Amiga 2000 will supply:

    			 +5	20.5a
    			+12 8.0a
    			-12 0.3a
    			 -5 0.3a

    Bare Motherboard +5 ?.?a
    			+12 ?.?a
    A2090 +5 3.0a
    SupraRAM 4MB +5 ?.?a
    			+12 ?.?a

    Cheers,

I ran a 2000 with the following configuration for over 6 months with no
    problems with the power supply:

    2 ICD controllers
    1 GVP controller
    ASDG Dual Serial Board
8 up mem board w/4 meg
    A2630 w/4 meg
    Flicker Fixer
100 meg drive on one of the ICD controllers
2 - 100 Meg drives on a custom mount in the pc slots
44 Mb syquest in the 5 1/4" bay
    2 floppies

I probably came close to the limits of the P/S, but never had any
    problems. Your mileage may vary....

drives 2 controllers (1 Amiga 1 IBM) a multifunction board on the
bridge side a genlock and a DCTV. Now THIS is full!
