5113.0. "ProWrite 3.2 upgrade." by HPSRAD::BUSCH (Dave Busch, MRO1-2/S10) Thu Oct 10 1991 12:53

I just got a flyer from New Horizons Software announcing a ProWrite 3.2 upgrade.
Briefly, here are some of the features:

     1.	PostScript support directly withing ProWrite - The PostScript module is
	no longer needed to get PostScript output. All of ProWrite's features,
	including multiple fonts, styles, and columns are supported in Post
	Script.

     2.	Jaggie-Free printing - Hassle-free, high quality printing without having
	to make any adjustments to font style or size.

     3.	Enhanced User Interface - ProWrite 3.2 has a new "3-D" look, similar to
	that found in Workbench 2.0.

     4.	Import and export Professional Page text files.

     5.	Directly insert files into ProWrite documents.

     6.	Improved picture handling - Pictures no longer become distorted when
	repeatedly resized. Alsok pictures retain their original color palette,
	for full color printing.

     7.	Automatic timed saves and automatic backups - Automatically backup your
	documents, in one minute to sixty minute intervals.

     8. And much, much more!!

To upgrade from:
	ProWrite 3.0 or 3.1, $25 (including $5 s&h) plus your original disk.
	ProWrite 2.0 or 2.5, $65 (including $5 s&h) plus your original disk.
	ProWrite 1.0 or 1.1, $80 (including $5 s&h) plus your original disk.

5113.1Print to a file?DENVER::ROYDances With ClamsWed Oct 23 1991 13:589

    	Any chance that the printer output could be redirected to a file.

    	For us poor souls that don't have a HP LaserJet II attached...

    	Or is there a PRT: redirection utility somewhere that I have
    	not yet stumbled onto. Now, that would be nice!

WB 1.3 had a program called CMD that would do what you wanted. Look into
the Utility drawer.

5113.3PostScript output can be redirected to a fileCHAKRA::ROBERTFor more info, call: 800/555-1212Wed Oct 23 1991 15:396
	The PostScript option of ProWrite 3.2 allows you to output to a file.
Does a nice job when uploaded to work and printed on an LPS20.

	I am not sure about redirecting output for ther printers.

5113.43.2 to 3.2.1 patch available on EOTTERSE::ROBINSONThu Nov 21 1991 14:0319
I just uploaded a patch file for ProWrite 3.2. I got it by FTPMAIL
from the famous ab20 archives. Although it was apparently disscussed
in the Usenet amiga applications news group, I don't yet know what it
fixes.  Here is the readme:
----------------------------------------------------------------
 Use lpatch and this patch to update ProWrite 3.2 to 3.2.1.
 Type 'lpatch' to find out how lpatch works.

 New Horizons Software, Inc.
 The new program created by this patch is still bound by the license agreement
 of ProWrite 3.2.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Typing lpatch on VMS doesn't work. :^)

The file name is:

By the way, I got the exact pointer to the ProWrite patch by sending
mail to Mark Thomas, who seems to follow the Amiga usenet newsgroups.

Here is a header and signature from one of his entries:

    Send the program (system) disk. You can keep the "extras" disk.
5113.8You can upgrade in the U.K. ?!?CRISPY::NONDEPIl est des fois que je souhaite....Wed Jan 15 1992 12:5413
    Just phoned New Horizons who told me that in the U.K. I could contact
    SDL after a call on 081 309 5504 I was told this was a dealer number
    and should contact 081 309 5504 Lady answered Silica... then was put
    onto 081 309 1111 to check if they were shipping 3.2 upgrade and not
    3.1.1. and was told that I needed to send all documentation
    and disks to Silica's address in Kent need to look in the
    newsletter/brochure Silica does along with 13.95 and they would
    upgrade me to 3.2.

    How does this seems ? I wasn't too impress by the last call trying to
    get the address ? Is Silica's service O.K. ?

    Cheers, Patrick
