| I haven't tried the new version, but as I recall, the old version was
very stack intensive. I created a little script to increase the stack
and do all of the initialization stuff. In my opinion, this made the
game run much better than when executed by double-clicking on the icon.

Yea, that's what I suspected, especially when I looked at Larn's .info file and
it specified a stack size of 100000. But it crashes when run from the icon
also, briefly displaying the same error msg: "Can't open window".
Over the years I've gone through a plethora of different console devices,
perhaps I need a particular one mounted (or I can't have one mounted that I have
now)?
I tried taking a fresh Workbench 1.3 disk, copying it, stripping it down, and
putting Larn on there. Still crashes with the same msg. I'm perplexed...
