4995.0. "CD_ROM Toshiba " by UFHIS::SMEYER () Mon Aug 26 1991 05:47

    Hallo,

    I need help with my CD-ROM!

    Config:  Toshiba 3301 external
    	     A 2000 6.2
    	     GVP II
    	     CDROM FS from Hypermedia

    Problem:

    	I spend a lot of time to make it run, but nothing hapend.

    Here are the Questions:

    1. Please can anyone give me the MounList entry?

    2. Which phonenumber has the developer of CDROM-FS (Kanadian Pro...)?

    3. The best would be, if someone can give me an installing Procedure
       step by step.

    4. The Toshiba CD-ROM was shipped with an SCSI-cable for MAC, but it
       must be the same! (???)

    thanks in advanced,

4995.1what version GVP stuffSALEM::LEIMBERGERMon Aug 26 1991 07:455
    What version GVP software are you using ? I have the controller with
    the FasstRom installed,and the FasstRom software. This is waht comes
    with all the latest GVP controllers. If you don't have this call GVP
    for an update.

    The mountlist entry is included on the CDROM-FS diskette. Note that
    all but one of the entries in the file are essentially identical. What
    you have to do is copy the file from the diskette to your DEVS:
    directory, change the device name of an entry to your choice (CD0:
    recommended for the Hypermedia Concepts Fish Disks CDROM), and change
    the SCSI unit number to what you are actually using. Then a command
    like
    	mount CD0: from DEVS:MOUNTLIST.CDROM
    should work.

4995.3NOT A DOS DISKUFHIS::SMEYERTue Aug 27 1991 03:3438
    Hallo,

    I have included the Mountlist from the CDROM-FS disk and made the
    changes to driver : gvpscsi.device and Unit: 1

    Then I mount the CD-ROM: mount TOSHIBA: from DEVS:mountlist.CDROM

    The CD-ROM is recognised, but the mounted CD-ROM was "NOT A DOS DISK".

    I have tried to change the Terminator (with one, with two, nothing).

    re. 1

    GVP II:

    V 3.07/ECD9
    EVEN/256

    Board Rev 4

    CDROM-FS:

    Version 0.701

    CR-ROM :

    TXM-3301A1

    cheers,

    re. 4

    ooopps... I mean after mounting the CDROM, the info-command say
    that in the CD-ROM "IS NOT A DOS DISK".

    (I have tried: FishCollection 1.1 + 1.2, World Vista)

4995.6New Version of CD-ROMFS EACT16::TMEYERFri Sep 27 1991 05:1218
Hurray,

my CDROM works now.

I got a new Version of the CDrom FS, and now I can Access to
my, a little bit faster, Toshiba CDrom.

There was an problem with the Toshia model I have and the driver.

Tonight I upgrade my GVPII rom software which I get yesterday.

("Another update for fixing bugs, or new features?")

BTW: I got the new Fish-CD from Hypermedia with 530 Fishdisks.
4995.7SIM CITY on CD EACT16::TMEYERFri Sep 27 1991 05:157
When I play Sim CITY on my CDROM, I can't hear the MUSIC-tracks
which are will play during the game.

Any resolution?
